Handicap/Walk-up Refuse Collection Program

The City of Murray has a program to assist people with disabilities needing help with their rollout refuse container.

To qualify for this program applicants must be permanently, physically disabled to the extent that they cannot transport their trash to the curb for collection. Also, the applicant must signify that there is no one residing in the residence over the age of twelve (12) years who is able to transport the trash container from the residence to the curbside for collection.

To request this special service, please submit all of the following:

If qualified for this special service, your trash collection day will not change. Collection of your trash will be placed on the Special Collections Route and you will no longer be required to place your container curbside for service. Sanitation employees are not allowed to enter any buildings nor will they enter yards where loose animals may present a threat to their safety.
