The Planning Commission consists of 10 members of the community, who assist the Planning Department, advise the City Council, and approve Planned Development Projects (PDPs) and make recommendations to the City Council.. Members of the Planning Commission are appointed by the mayor, and voted in by the passage of a municipal order by the City Council. The Planning Commission's primary responsibility is guiding the overall planning activities of the City of Murray.
The Planning Commission meets the third Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Council Chambers of City Hall at 104 N. 5th St. To submit items to be considered by the Planning Commission contact Candace Dowdy at 270-762-0350 x1128.
