Murray Municipal Utilities

Murray Utilities is located inside City Hall. We are open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Murray Utilities is responsible for initiating new and transferring existing utility services of natural gas, water, sanitary sewer, sanitation, and stormwater. Murray Utilities is responsible for the billing and collection for all the above services.

Listed below are some frequently asked questions which may provide you with additional information.

How do I establish service?
The customer is required to come to the office to complete a service application and provide a picture ID such as driver's license, passport, MSU ID, Military ID, or ID card.

Who pays deposits?
Renters and businesses.

How much are they?
Renters pay $100.00 for natural gas, and $100.00 for water. Business deposits are determined at the time of application. It depends on the size of building, type of business, and previous history.

How am I billed?
Once a month. The billing cycles are the 15th and 30th of the month. Your bill is determined by the location.

What type of payment methods are offered?
Cash, check, money order, credit card (in office only), or convenient bankdraft. We currently don't offer budget billing, but you can always pay extra along with your monthly payment.

How much are "hookup or connect fees"?
$15.00 per service (gas and water) if the service is off. This can be added to your first bill.
