Q. What is the population of Murray?
A. 14,950 according to U.S. Census 2000 data.

Q. Who do I contact in regard to stray domestic animals?

A. 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Q. Who is required to buy city stickers and business licenses and how long are they good?

Q. When and where are City Council, BZA, and Planning Commission meetings?
A. City Council meetings are 6:30 PM, 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month.  Planning Commission meetings are 5:00 PM, 3rd Tuesday of each month.  Board of Zoning Adjustment meetings are 4:30 PM, 3rd Wednesday of each month.  Also: See graphic calendar for a color-coded display of all city meetings.

Q. Who picks up dead animals?

Q. What holidays are we closed?
A. New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day. This list is subject to change, check our homepage for new information.

Q. Can I apply if a job is not available?
A. Yes. Applications are kept in the Personnel Office for a period of six months. See the Personnel page for an application.

Q. If I have a job application in and I see a job advertised, do I need to apply again?
A. That will depend on the job advertised. If you have failed to list on your application certain skills that are a requirement of the job, it is usually best to fill out another application. That makes us aware that you are interested in the current position and you can be assured that your application is up-to-date.
