City Stickers

City ordinance requires that those citizens that work or live within the city limits of Murray obtain a city sticker for each personal vehicle utilized within the city limits. This includes Murray State students living on campus that receive income. MSU students that do not receive any type of paycheck while residing on campus are exempt. The cost of each sticker is $35.00 and is valid for a period of one year. The City Sticker takes the place of a payroll tax or a gross receipts tax required in other cities. To obtain a city sticker you will need to know:
1. Year of Vehicle
2. Make of Vehicle
3. Model of Vehicle
4. License Plate Number

If a vehicle with a city sticker is sold or transferred to a different owner, the old sticker will need to be scraped off and brought in to City Hall in order to validate re-issuance. A new sticker will be issued for the new vehicle for a $1.00 fee. The annual deadline for city stickers is the last day of May. New residents or workers have 30 days after moving into Murray to obtain a city sticker. Citations are issued by the Murray Police Department for non-compliance.
